Best Dressed at the 2017 Golden Globes

The Golden Globe Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday night. While it was a big night for movies and television, it was also a big night for fashion!

Although there were some actresses who didn’t wear their best for the first awards show of the season, there were others who showed up and showed out in vibrant pops of color, white, silver and, of course, gold!

Here are my picks for the best dressed on the red carpet:

Fences star Viola Davis, who won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, wore a canary yellow gown from the Michael Kors Collection. She glowed in the paillette-embroidered stretch-tulle one-shoulder dress.

Lily Collins was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy in Rules Don’t Apply. Even though she didn’t win, she was definitely a winner on the red carpet. She looked absolutely beautiful in her pink Zuhair Murad dress, completed with her bold matte red lipstick, pink eyeshadow and hairstyle.

While I’m not usually into draped or cold-shoulder sleeves, I loved how they went well with Hailee Steinfeld’s dress. She looked elegant in a custom made lavender Vera Wang gown.

Steinfeld was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role as Nadine in The Edge of Seventeen.

Golden Globe winner for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role in the musical La La Land, Emma Stone dazzled her way down the red carpet in a pink Valentino Haute Couture gown.

Issa Rae (nominated for Best Actress in a TV Series – Musical or Comedy for Insecure) wore a high neckline encrusted, beaded gown designed by Christian Siriano, and topped it off with her beautiful megawatt smile.

Silver and gold! The holidays may be over, but that does not stop the stars from wearing those colors on the red carpet for one of the best awards show of the season.

American Crime star Regina King and Stranger Things‘ Millie Bobby Brown both looked stunning in their silver dresses. King sparkled in a Romona Keveza gown and Brown was the definition of “cute”in her Jenny Packham mini dress.

Going for the gold (pun intended) were Priyanka Chopra and Sofia Vergara. The Quanticao and Modern Family actresses, respectively, were both presenters at the event.

Chopra wore a metallic gown with a plunging v-neckline from the Ralph Lauren Collection. Vergara wore a Zuhair Murad embroidered gown (another one with cold-shoulder sleeves that I loved) draped in nude diamonds by Lorraine Schwartz.
