It’s been 49 years since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated while he was standing on that balcony of the Lorraine motel in Memphis, Tennessee.

Today also marks 50 years since Dr. King delivered one of his most powerful speeches while at Riverside Church in NYC, when he spoke out against America’s involvement in the war in Vietnam, titled “Beyond Vietnam,” in 1967.
