Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel is set to return as host of the Oscars in 2018 for a second consecutive year.
The announcement was made by Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs on Tuesday.
“Hosting the Oscars was a highlight of my career and I am grateful to Cheryl, [Academy CEO Dawn Hudson], and the Academy for asking me to return to work with two of my favorite people, Mike De Luca and Jennifer Todd,” Kimmel said in a statement. “If you think we screwed up the ending this year, wait until you see what we have planned for the 90th anniversary show!”
Of course, the ending he was referring to was last year’s huge mishap, when La La Land was mistakenly named the winner of Best Picture instead of Moonlight.
The 90th Academy Awards will be televised live on ABC on March 4, 2018, from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood at 8:30PM EST/5:30PM PST.
